Though this is the week for study of Part IV: The Life and Teachings of Jesus, the facilitators met at The Chaffee library and studied Paper 75: The Default of Adam and Eve. We also went over a series of quotes from The Urantia Book that address the subjects of truth, falsehood, error, evil, sin, and iniquity. We found that it became very confusing to grasp the true meaning of these words by simply looking at quotes removed from the surrounding papers they are contained in. While this method of study does have value in that it fosters an overview of information contained in the book, it does potentially take away from the understanding of deeper meanings of the subject being studied.
Paper 75 was a very interesting read--it always has been. It is a study in the supreme value of patience, the importance of seeking to do what truly is right rather than what merely "feels right".
Adam and Eve and their story have always been inspiration to me to make the most of my struggles on this world, to learn from them, and to always keep in mind the bigger picture. To understand my place in the universe and how I can be of most benefit to my fellow man on this world. To take action, but more importantly, to take the correct action.
